Kashmir cornflower blue of
the highest intensity. This beautiful investment grade piece closely resembles a
Kashmir sapphire due to its dreamy, velvety blue hue. The resemblance ends
though when seen under incandescent light as a riot of red flashes explodes
within the stone. This wonderful 6.63 carat AAA+ Tanzanite is extremely
rare; its color harks back to the early days of Tanzanite mining and is very
rarely mined these days. Flawless and top cutting. A superb investment
grade piece in all respects.
TANZANITE Tanzanite is
an extraordinary gemstone. It occurs in only one place worldwide. Its
blue, surrounded by a fine hint of purple, is a wonderful color. Tanzanite
is a blue variety of the gemstone Zoisite. It consists of calcium aluminum
silicate and is not particularly hard, having a value of 6.5 to 7 on the
Mohs scale. For that reason, it should always be worn carefully and never
placed in an ultrasonic bath for cleaning or brought into contact with
acids. Tanzanite is the blue/purple variety of the mineral zoisite
discovered in the Meralani Hills of northern Tanzania in 1967, near
the city of Arusha. However most tanzanite is subjected to artificial heat
treatment to improve its color
