A wonderful Tanzanite - true investment grade. A dreamy, intense,
unparalleled blue; very deep color saturation. Flawless and well cut. A classic
block D stone, with striking, explosive violet flashes. High levels of
brilliance due to a myriad of facets on the pavilion. A very fine Tanzanite
indeed.
TANZANITE Tanzanite is
an extraordinary gemstone. It occurs in only one place worldwide. Its
blue, surrounded by a fine hint of purple, is a wonderful color. Tanzanite
is a blue variety of the gemstone Zoisite. It consists of calcium aluminum
silicate and is not particularly hard, having a value of 6.5 to 7 on the
Mohs scale. For that reason, it should always be worn carefully and never
placed in an ultrasonic bath for cleaning or brought into contact with
acids. Tanzanite is the blue/purple variety of the mineral zoisite
discovered in the Meralani Hills of northern Tanzania in 1967, near
the city of Arusha. However most tanzanite is subjected to artificial heat
treatment to improve its color
